SHOBOSHO - STUDIOGRAM

 PROJECT

SHOBOSHO-

STUDIOGRAM

Nestled in the vibrant city of Adelaide, Shobosho is a culinary gem that brings the spirit of Japanese fire-inspired cuisine to the heart of the region. Located amidst the bustling streets and diverse culinary scene, the restaurant stands as a testament to the city's passion for exceptional dining experiences.

Shobosho's unique concept and design draw inspiration from the Japanese word "Shobosho," meaning "fire house." Embracing the minimalist aesthetic, the venue showcases the timeless beauty of Baltic Pine. The wood takes on two distinct finishes: a natural one that highlights its warm tones and natural grain, and a charred finish achieved through the ancient Japanese technique known as Shou Sugi Ban. This method involves charring the wood with fire, imparting a captivating texture and enhancing its resilience. The charred Baltic Pine panels create a stunning visual contrast against the warm glow of the natural wood, setting the stage for an inviting and dynamic atmosphere.

To enhance the overall ambiance, Shobosho incorporates thoughtful lighting elements. Notably, the venue features the Mori pendant and wall lights designed by RBW. These unique fixtures combine a simple cross-wire frame cocooned in woven threads, creating a play of light and shadow. Emitting a warm, ambient glow reminiscent of traditional paper and fabric lanterns, the Mori lights pay homage to classic forms while adding a contemporary touch. These lighting installations contribute to a cozy and intimate atmosphere, enhancing the immersive dining experience.
